Michelle Felten, FLC junior and member of the Newman Club will be fully initiated into the Catholic Faith during the Easter Vigil, on April 23. This is what she writes about her faith journey:
“This summer I decided I wanted to complete my sacraments. It was something I needed to do for myself. I wanted to be part of the church, the community that is so welcoming and loving to everyone. I wanted God to be a huge part of my life. I have been attending the RCIA classes since September and I have learned so much, about my relationship with God and about church. I haven't been as happy as I am now in a long time and I believe that is because I have let God into my life completely. For many of you, you probably made your first holy communion when you were little and don't remember much. I sit in church and for the last two weeks, getting blessed when you all are receiving communion is torture! I cannot wait until I get to receive the body and blood of Christ!! I cannot wait to be so close to Christ that he is physically inside me and I get to radiate his grace to the people around me and to those who have supported me in my decision. Thank you for being with me on my journey to God.”
Thanks for sharing this with us, Michelle. Congratulations and may God continue to bless you, your family and friends abundantly!

Congratulations to senior Kalyn Green who received this year's (2010/2011) RSO Outstanding Member Award! Kalyn has been a part of the Newman Club since her freshman year and has helped with the Sesjinja Run/fundraiser, participated in a core group planning retreat and a diocesan Leadership retreat and helped with the liturgical music for our campus mass.
Last semester she was instrumental in putting together the replica of our Mc Pherson chapel that was entered as a float in the home coming parade. And in the Fall she single handedly created our awesome web site and updated it faithfully every week during the academic year. We are very grateful for everything she has done and will miss her dearly. Lucky for us, she will stay around in the summer.
May God continue to guide your path, Kalyn and may God bless you, your family and friends.
